Air traffic halted, bombs flying, troops marching, dead bodies scattered across state lines. It’s terribly inconvenient that religious travel would be halted to one of the worlds most popular tourist attractions because of some minor disagreement about territory. Often times Americans will watch media coverage assuming that there wouldn’t be any bias or favoritism for sides in a non domestic fight, and only some will take the steps to dive into google to research the causes of the dilemma.
Anyone who actually went to their sixth grade social studies class knows that there has been a territorial dispute between religious and racial cultures over who has diplomatic control of Jerusalem for over a century. But, what you may not know is the struggle the Palestinians have had to endure due to Israel’s insatiable hunger for land.
The conflict over territory dates back to the end of second world war while Britain maintained control of Jerusalem, the United Nations assisted in dividing Jerusalem into two states consisting of the Jewish state and the Arab state. The Jewish political leaders agreed to this, the Arab political leaders did not, and have since been in a constant struggle to maintain the boundaries of their decreed territory with little assistance from outside sources to repair the political dissonance.
Since the original agreement and the release of Britain control over Jerusalem, Gaza has been pushed into a continued state of self defense.
Having control over the territory between the two states Gaza and the West Bank, including Gaza’s airspace, the sea, and the shipping routes, Israel has dominance over the Gaza strip and has little recognition for the initial agreements made in 1948. Against international objection, Israel has taken occupation of the Gaza strip and bullied their way into forcible control over Gaza. Unemployment, deteriorating social structures including health, the Palestine in Gaza had no choice but to form their own military branch. Some would view this as a terrorist group and some would view it as survival.

Israel has continually invaded Palestinian territory and sought to eliminate the efforts of the Palestine government to liberate the Palestine state.
Why Isn’t Palestine a Part of The United Nations?
Per the United Nations platform the history of the Palestinian struggle is fraught with a fight breaking out among the states every time a liberation agreement is on the table. UN.org/unispal/history
In 2012 the Palestine government sought to join the United Nations, a move that would assist in their ongoing fight with Israel. Due to the lack of a unanimous vote from Security Council Members they have been placed on the bench seats of the UN as a non member observer state.
American Government Plays Favorites
Oddly enough the US government comes to the aid of the Ukraine, who controls energy resources with the heroic notion of being the territorial aid for a small country who is fighting a land hungry dominator. But, when it comes to the aid of the small state of the Palestine who have no control over the majority of land they were promised 80 years ago, American leaders rush to the aid of the Israeli military who are, and have been, breaking their agreements and bullying the smaller state in a country already devastated.
President Joe Biden has just sworn solidarity with Israel and guarantees the military power needed to stave off the invasions from the Hamas militants. Although, Israel’s military consists of more than 165,000 active personnel and a budget of more than 24 billion dollars they exceed the strength of the Hamas by 75% whereas the Hamas military has a possible 40,000 combatants.
